I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bank of America in Nov 2011
Interview
First, we were interviewed at our university, mainly discussed the resume.. Later called to Charlotte for the final round of interviews.
Had an evening to network with the bosses and previous QMAP students who would be interviewing the next day.
The final day started with a presentation where you had to make a decision to invest in a project/not. in a group of 5, they selected the students such that roughly half were for, others against. ( we were given the case study for the presentation a week in advance, so individual presentations were ready, but as a group needed to select a decision and make it up in an hour).
This was followed by 2 technical and 2 HR interviews. the tech was mostly from the resume, they want to know if u have handled large data sets before, along with good statistics experience. The HR interviews were not that easy, be prepared for them (a sample may be available online)
Hope this helps, all the best!

Application
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Bank of America (New York, NY) in Mar 2026
Interview
They have 5 rounds of interview, it is an intense process. Going through the job description and knowing most of the things is key. Make sure to know the resume content really well
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to explain my projects in detail - more you highlight the technical depth, higher they value
Technical questions and a take home project. Tech questions are related to statistics and math, not very hard but time-series specifically. Also, there are questions related to probability calculation. The vibe is casual and the interviewers are very nice.

Question 1
What is GATCH model.
How to tell if a time series is stationary or not.
Scheduled Superday with 2x 40 minute interviews back-to-back with different BofA employees (up to at least VP, Director+). Almost entirely behavioral, with just a few questions on languages and data structures you have worked with. Mostly about data communication. Super friendly and reasonable.
