I recently interviewed with Backbase for a Senior System Engineer position, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The interview was rescheduled twice due to the interviewer not joining on time. When it finally happened, the interviewer joined late and asked questions that were not at all relevant to the senior-level role I applied for. As someone currently working in a well-established MNC, I expect clarity on role expectations—however, the questions felt more aligned with a generalist or startup-level profile, lacking depth or alignment with the responsibilities of a Senior Engineer. Overall, it felt disorganized and unprofessional. It seemed like the interviewer wasn’t prepared or aware of my background. Disappointing and not worth the time invested.

Total 4 round was there: 1) Written test on codility, which checked knowledge on helm and kubernetes 2) Technical Round 3 ) Culture Round 4) HR Round After each round feedback was very quick.

At first it was an interview with Technical recruiter, which went nice taking me to next technical round. Backbase organised 2 technical sessions in one day to save my time and showed how keen they are finding talent. Later than that a feedback call with recruiter who confirmed the success.
