I found job listed on Indeed. Two weeks after applying, I was contacted by email for a phone screen with Hiring Manager. Phone interview was a line by line interrogation of skills listed on CV. Hiring manager questioned my proficiency many times.
Followed by three weeks radio silence. Then shockingly an email appeared with invitation to interview on site. The onsite was 6 1:1 interview for 30-45 mins. Nobody prepared. Just winged it, some had no clue what position I was interviewing for.
The day is split in half; first at their SSF facility, then you handed boxed lunch and asked to drive to Redwood City office.
Total 6 hours. Multiple interviews. Was contacted for references, then, at very end, was told the job was now RA and temp. At my new company, colleague said they had exact same experience and turned down too. Sad!
Overall, felt like I was back in Academia. Unorganized, strange/shady characters, unprepared people. Yikes!
