      Country Manager Interview

      8 Mar 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Philadelphia, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ancillare (Philadelphia, PA) in Mar 2021

      Interview

I was recently shortlisted for an interview with Ancillare for NL In Country General Manager candidate. The interviewing process was remote via Microsoft Teams as the head office is in the USA and I was situated in The Netherlands. It was planned to conduct three simultaneous conversations with the Global Chief Operations Officer, VP Clinical Operations and the Associate Director, Global Supply Chain Operations. The Global Chief Operations Officer had her camera positioned pointing up from her left, the view was her chin and the left side of her face. The VP, Clinical Operations arrived a good 10 minutes late which meant she had missed 1/3 of the call and the camera for the Associate Director, Global Supply Chain Operations was positioned at the right side of his head showing only his right side. He was positioned in the warehouse and was busy working, looking at his screen and signing documents while people in the background placed boxes on his desk and continued to work around him, which was distracting to say the least. The second round of interviews was planned for the next day with the Chief Strategic Officer and the and CEO. The interview was cancelled 30 minutes prior due to some urgent matter. The interview was rescheduled for the next day. The next day came and the call went ahead with the Chief Strategic Officer who was also late and the CEO. To my surprise neither of them turned on the cameras like I did. I had invited them into my home to conduct an interview and they remained incognito which I thought was very rude. Now I would like to point out that that this interview was not just for a packing boxes job (No disrespect to people who pack boxes) this was a position to run their office in The Netherlands responsible for the setup of the distribution centre responsible for up to 9 staff and a warehouse. How can you establish any kind of repour, trust, familiarly or feeling for team building if you cannot even see who you are talking to and people in the interview process are not 100% focused on your interview or on time? I have never had an interview where this has happened, even during Corona times! I cam away from the interview thinking to myself “I have no connection with this company” and even though I have been out of work for a while I even thought to myself “wow, I don’t even want to work here”. Now I didn't get the position, and this is not me just letting of steam and being disappointed, this was a genuine concern. I did not like the whole experience and I am, in a way relieved I dint have to say no thanks. I did read the reviews on this site prior to the interview and while there were not many comments in 2021 the previous ones made me quite cautious of this company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Its not the questions that were the problem but just to complete this section...... Where to you live and how far away is it from the office? Could you be on site every day all day?
