I applied online, however if you know someone who already works there it can be beneficial to get them to suggest you through the employee referral scheme (as with most companies in the contracting industry). It won't make the process any faster but a positive referral can never hurt and the friend will get a cash bonus if you are successful.
If your CV makes it through the first round of chops you will be asked to attend an assessment day. This will involve a stay over the night before for an informal meal and chat with some employees. Advice: during this informal meal u are still being assessed, don't get too drunk (though the drinks are free), don't be too obnoxious, don't be too quiet either. Try be positive about yourself and ask sensible questions. The next day is an early start (another reason not to get too drunk). You will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the offices. There you will be split into 2 groups (not sure if this always happens but mine was a big group). Depending on the group determines the order of your day but at some point everyone will have a technical interview, a HR interview and a group activity. HR interview is personal questions about your goals and situational questions. Technical interview I was given a short description of a process and asked to sketch it describing my thinking along the way. Group activity you are given a task as a group. Observers will watch constantly to see how both you and your team perform. Advise: they are looking for you to suggest good ideas and also listen to others. Don't just take over and ignore everyone, also don't be too quiet. Try include quieter members by asking what they think.
