I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Amazon (Herzliya) in Aug 2015
Interview
You first have a phone interview/screen with HR. You then get a call from another person from HR to schedule your in-person interviews. After you pass the phone screen, you are given 2 face-to-face interviews at their office. The first slot is with 2 people. The next slot is with the hiring manager. The first slot interview was very difficult and very intimidating because of the way they would ask their questions. I felt like I was in a interrogation room. The interview was very cold in respect to the negative demeanor of the interviewers. They have their laptops typing and recording everything you say. They will interrupt you while you are giving your answer/response. I was very nervous. They will ask you questions about AWS services and questions related to how you interact with customers and the qualities of owning a project from start to finish. Some of the questions they ask are about Amazon's Principles and Leadership. Considering that I have completed all of AWS's official training courses and even passed the Amazon Certified Solutions Architect Associate exam it was no walk in the park. In addition, the hiring manager mentioned after the interview that it is almost impossible to get hired at Amazon because you have to be at least better than the person that is hiring you and in addition you have to unanimously pass the interview with the another person in Israel and a 5-6 person interview in Luxembourg. After 2 days, I received an email that I will not be advancing to the next stage. What a bummer! I based my entire career on cloud computing(particularly AWS) and have extensive knowledge in this small country. Amazon in Israel acknowledges they have a resource issue and that there aren't enough qualified people to pass these exhaustive and intense interviews.
I was very hopeful that I would go to the next stage and when I saw the email that I wasn't, my self-confidence crashed along with all my pride of using AWS as a cloud provider. Perhaps I will continue my path with my Google Cloud Platform knowledge.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Apr 2026
Interview
You do 4 back to back interview in 1 day. It was exhausting. Besides that really appreciated the recruiter giving out interview prep before it takes place. The good thing is there is no coding round.
The interview process was very challenging and thorough. The questions required deep technical knowledge and problem-solving under pressure. While tough, it was fair and tested real-world skills, communication, and adaptability.
