Don't Waste Your Time Interviewing with 9 Employees for 6 Hours like I did...
1) Was contacted by recruiter with no info on background for the position.
2) Had one phone interview initially with interviewer not having info background for position. But, she had really great questions because she was "curious".
3) Initial recruiter set up interviews for interview with 9 Amazon Employees. My available timeframe was two week later, and they accomodated that.
4) Initial recruiter asked me to review STAR format of interviewing and Amazon Principles.
5) The first interview was over the phone and the lady was very amiable, and asked some good behavior questions even though she knew nothing about the opportunity.
6) I got by that telephone round because she was good at interviewing and asked good follow up questions.
7) Than the video interviews occurred. ALL interviewers started with "I don't know what this job is for, I have no background in what I am interviewing for, you will not be working with me an any way"...3 of the 9 interviewer said "thank you for educating me on the role you are applying for because I have no idea what it is"
8) To make a long story short...don' waste you time interviewing with Amazon....unless you want to practice your interviewing...that is all you going to get out it it...in two of the interviews HIDDEN interviewers were in the background, not idenfied until the last moment of the interviews....one guy said he was training the other guy to interview....seemed like I was being used to train people in LIVE interview or something...
9) Don't take personally if you don't move forward...it is not about YOUR answers or education or experience....it is about THEIRS, and that was lacking on most interviewers' behalf....most seemed to lack any interest in being groped into interviewing for a role they knew nothing about....that is understandable....
10) I was called by a different recruiter to close out the process...and he communicated I would not be moving forward....
11) I asked the recruiter "How is AMBIGUITY part of Amazon if it is none of the Amazon Princicples....he said that was a good question...we talked about more things but I think I have wrote enough here already...
12) People can hire whoever they want...sadly, there is not law to my knowlegde that hiring needs to be done on education ,qualifications or expertise....maybe there is but it is not worth pursuing...just apply somewhere else....life will go on...
