      Language Data Associate Interview

      9 Sept 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Boston, MA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Boston, MA)

      Interview

First you have to take a quiz in the language you are applying for to ensure you can do transcription, annotation, etc. It is very easy even if you have no experience, mostly common sense. Then there is a first phone interview half in English and half in the language you are applying for. The person interviewing me seemed really annoyed and like they didn't want to answer my questions, so that didn't go so well. However, I still made it to the second interview. The second interview was all in English and in person with 3 people from the team. They were all very kind and it was very easy overall, ironically much easier than the initial screening interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They will ask you all situational questions. To prepare think of times you succeeded, failed, were challenged, would do things differently, or disagreed at past places of work. Also look at Amazon's leadership principles and subtly reference those in your answers.
