      Liability Adjuster Interview

      20 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Allstate

      Interview

First, there was a simulated interview where questions were recorded, and you would record your answer back. That was very easy, and the concept was nice. I was then contacted to set up a Zoom interview. I thought I would be interviewing with HR personnel, but the interviewers explained they were on a project to do internal hiring. They didn't even have an enormous amount of experience in the role I was applying for, nor were they even in the state the posting was for...so I was surprised. They told me about themselves, then asked about me. There were a few behavioral/situational prompts. It was a simple interview, but I found it a bit unprofessional. One of the interviewers came off very arrogant, and made a slip up when sharing his screen..exposing another candidate's resume...exposing all their personal contact info. There were a few what would you do situations regarding every day scenarios on the work day.... which I found odd for an entry level job. How would one know what to do for an entry level job with no prior training or education on the position?

      Question 1

They gave a list of tasks, and you had to order what you would do first.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate in Oct 2023

      Interview

Applied - 9/27/2023 Contacted for Interview - 10/5/2023 Interviewed - 10/19/2023 Status to Part 2 Application - 10/26/2023 Offer - 10/31/2023 Background - 10/31/2023 Background Cleared - 11/03/2023 i have listed the timeline for about how long my process took from applying to the job and actually getting the verbal offer and offer letter. the interview process for me was pretty straightforward. it was 2 managers, and they start by asking about you and your background. they ask you 2-3 behavioral questions that you answer using the STAR method. i always use PAR for my own sanity. they ask you 2 situational questions and how you would handle them. they also ask you about how you prioritize your tasks and day as an adjuster. they speak about the benefits, ask you if you have any questions for them (please ask at least 2 questions) whom ever i’m interviewing with always seem very impressed by my ability to ask them questions that make them think, i believe this contributes to my success even if i believe the interview did not go as well as i planned it. the mangers stated i would hear back within 5 business days.

      Question 1

      - what interested you the most about this particular job? - why did you leave your last job? - tell me about a time when you dealt with a difficult customer, what was the situation, how did you handle it, and what was the outcome?
