I replied to an online ad. Never heard from them so the ad went into the "No Response" file. Then, after a month, I received a telephone call from a person from another office and had a 30-minute phone interview.
Then the process went "south". After the call, I was asked to come into the local office the next day for an on-site interview. I asked if I could schedule another day, the day they wanted me to come in was Yom Kippur. After a short pause, I was then rescheduled for the day after and I accepted the interview appointment. About 10 minutes later, I get a telephone call again and they abruptly cancelled the interview. No reschedule was made, and worse, was told that the manager I would meet with was going on vacation. Well, after two weeks, I never heard back from them. Calls to Allstate went to voicemail and nobody would call me back. I believe I was discriminated against because I was NOT available on the Holiest Day of my religion. There would be no other reason UNLESS this position was already filled BUT then why lie about the reason for the cancellation AND never having the professional courtesy of emailing me or calling me back to explain.
