I applied for a UI/UX Designer position and initially had a smooth experience. I was contacted by a recruiter and completed the first-round interview successfully. I was then given a design challenge, which I spent significant time on and submitted within the deadline.
A second interview with the Chief of Product was scheduled for July 31, 2025. I waited in the call room at the scheduled time, only to learn that the interview had been cancelled on the spot due to the interviewer taking emergency leave. While I understand that emergencies happen, what followed was unacceptable.
I received no follow-up, no rescheduling, and no feedback despite following up myself about two weeks later. I was told vaguely, “We’ll get back to you.” But I never heard anything again.
Then, on September 5, 2025, I was contacted by a different HR person for the same role, as if I had never been through any of the previous processes. When I asked about my past application, I was casually told that the hiring manager had rejected my profile at the last minute.
Advice to Others Applying:
Be cautious about investing significant time unless you receive clear signals of commitment. Document your communication and follow up proactively, as you may not receive updates otherwise.
