I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Alarm.com (Bloomington, MN) in Dec 2014
Interview
First interview was at the Recruiter office, with two friendly Alarm employees, all basic questions about my job experiences. Also one questions was about teaching them how to pump gas. Second job interview was at their office in Bloomington MN. Five friendly employees asked me all kind of questions for over an our. At the end was to log into a tablet with an invalid password and a hard copy of a paragraph about driving and talking on the phone.

Question 1
Difficult: To log into the tablet with a wrong password. Unexpected: After all the questioning; I was asked to tell a joke. I did, and they laughed, so now a feel like an idiot for telling a joke for free.

Interview
Four people from Alarm.com interviewed me virtually. They were very kind, but it seemed like they were also just figuring out how to conduct interviews virtually. They asked hypothetical questions about how I might respond to a given situation, and then they asked me a brain teaser. The one downside was this: the company ghosted me after the interview. Even after I emailed the recruiter asking about a status on my interview, I received nothing.

Question 1
Q: Tell us about a time when you and a team failed, and how did you overcome it?
I applied online. I interviewed at Alarm.com in Jan 2020
Interview
There was a phone interview first where they asked behavioral questions which was very easy and they immediately scheduled for an In-person Interview for next week. It was in Bloomington MN. There were 3 Interviewers in the Panel and they were very friendly. They asked similar behavioral questions and then they asked a few troubleshooting questions with some sample calls. They also gave me an Ipad and was asked to resolve an issue with the help of their knowledge base. Finally there was a logical puzzle which I had to solve. The Interview lasted about an hour. It was an easy Interview but I'm not sure who they are exactly looking for. After 2 weeks I received an email that they ended up moving forward with another Candidate.

Question 1
Tell us a time when you troubleshooted something on your own
I only did the phone interview. They asked me a lot of technical questions based on their products. I wasn't expecting those type of questions right away in a phone interview without knowing the products.
