I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
I applied online and received a link to fill submit some video interviews and short answers a little over 2 weeks later. I was given a week to complete it, so I spent a lot of time writing, prepping, and recording the answers. Questions were standard behavioral interview questions with a few that required some thinking outside the box. After submitting the videos and short answers at the end of the week, I received a canned email the beginning of the following week stating that they decided not to move forward with the application. At no point did I have the opportunity to interact with or get in contact with an actual person, and I do feel that a phone interview along with written exercises would be much more helpful in getting a feel for an applicant instead of recorded video responses. I would love to work at Airbnb but definitely did not feel valued as an applicant.

Question 1
Tell us a little about yourself. What should we know that isn't on your resume?
Imagining that you had unlimited resources, what would you do at a new university in order to 1. connect with the best CS students and 2. build brand awareness on behalf of Airbnb?
Went into the pdx office for an in person interview. Was given a tour and was asked to meet with a culture ambassador. Which I thought was weird. The interviewer asked me a lot of different questions and I answered the best I could at the end. He said that he felt like he didn’t really know me personally and in my mind, I thought to myself well maybe you should’ve asked me questions that would help you answer that thought of how can I get to know this guy better personally.

Question 1
I was asked multiple question regarding my approach to recruiting and achievements. But then the interviewer told me they felt they didn’t know me. It was very weird.
All interview rounds were smooth and well-informed. Everyone was clear on what they were looking for, and I had fun speaking with them. Got to know more about the company, 2 rounds of core values
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (Bengaluru) in Oct 2024
Interview
Recruiter screen, followed by 2 rounds of interviews with senior folks in recruiting. Fully remote role hence online interviews. Interviews were scheduled fairly soon but the feedback took forever to come through. Recruiting coordinator was very weird and rude throughout the process. Was an entitled coordinator by the looks of it. Had no idea about the interview rounds or process.
