I went for an interview on 23 Sep 2014 called Hiring Meetup starting at 10am. I was a bit stuck in the traffic on the Quays and received a call at 9:50 asking if I was still attending the interview! I said yes but that I may be a little bit late due to the traffic(between 5 and 10 min) Parked on Lansdowne Road and a bit stressed I was looking for the building where the Hiring Meetup is taking place. Could not find any Airbnb signs or any Airbnb building I started to ask some people (5 in total) , none seemed to know the place I was talking about and were in reality misleading me . I called again, voice mail, to say that I was sorry but cannot find the Airbnb building anywhere. Then I received a call from the Recruitment Team, basically saying that there was no point showing myself at the meeting and that I could go home now! Despite my request of help about locating the building (i.e. how it look like?, is it near a Hotel?,etc...) I only got an irritated person, giving me no help whatsoever, who sounded like she was happy there was one less in the recruitment process...The phone call ended with 18, the number of the house on Lansdowne Road. I was near the Aviva Stadium at this stage and got back to find out the said number on this road. No Airbnb signs anywhere, no Airbnb logos either, it looked like a private house, no more, no less.
I learned from the whole experience that if you get no help from the hiring/training team from the very early stage of recruitment then the company doesn't worth working for. The complete joke of the organization of this Hiring Meetup without even a tiny Airbnb sign or Logo in front of the building is telling about that company. I m glad now that it all stopped then because when so called people in the hospitality business or accommodation business are not lifting one finger to help you, there's something seriously wrong!!
