I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Aerotek (South San Francisco, CA)
Interview
First interview was a group interview, with over 30 people on a zoom call. You were split into smaller groups, and you have to make sure to ask questions in order to stand out in the crowd. I made it all the way to the final interview, which was with the CEO. He was friendly enough, but be warned that he asks a lot of personal questions, like about your parents and what they do for a living. Towards the end of the interview, he told me he didn't see me as motivated enough to be a recruiter, and I attempted to defend myself but it definitely rubbed me wrong. I gave my answer, but he did not like it and pushed me to dig deeper, back to my childhood. I was so thrown off by the question, I randomly mentioned something about my childhood (not having money) and he immediately perked up in his chair and wanted me to explain this bad experience in great detail. I found this questioning very inappropriate, and after my long childhood trauma story that he pressed me for, he reiterated that I don't seem motivated enough to be a recruiter. I felt very upset after the interview, and even if I had been offered a position I would have said no.
The interview process was quick. Lasting around 15 minutes. There are several interviews that you will go through. They will do an initial interview with the director. Then you will get scheduled for a follow up. This is where you meet the other recruiters and account managers. They will walk you around the office and have you shadow some of the recruiters.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What motivates you?
What’s your “why”?
Are you a go-getter?
Average difficulty covering standard interview questions. Phone screen followed by an in-person interview. Phone screen was received quickly after resume submission; in-person was with their head recruiter and then followed by one with their manager.
Phone screening call with the recruiter giving me information about the job, then another virtual call interview more in depth to ask me more questions. The final interview is in person in their office.
