I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Advania (London, England) in Apr 2024
Interview
First was a test.
Test was 55 questions and had 17 minutes to complete.
I scored 70% which landed me for the 1st stage interview.
First Interview lasted over 40 minutes for only a 30 mins meeting.
We discussed about my background in IT. followed by technical question. I quite enjoyed my interview with this person.
Was told by the recruiter afterwards. Manager was impressed. Which landed me for the final interview.
Final interview was with 2 people. Remember smiling and trying to have a short conversation with them. They both seemed morbid/secluse and it was a struggle for them to smile.
This interview was to explain a bit more with the business and mention how their staff of 50 IT Technicians are doing very well with feedback. I again explained my back ground in IT. And discussing collaboration, Teamwork, what I can offer if I was accepted. And lastly followed by more technical questions.
After 48 hours, Received not so positive news. Quite confusing feedback.
Here's what they said.
"Unfortunately the interview with [Redacted] wasn't successful. [Redacted] is a desktop engineer working remotely from home. This role is full time onsite at client's premises and i believe a hybrid role with more flexibility to work remotely is something that could work better for him. We are looking for strong 2nd line engineers with more hands on experience and [Redacted] doesn't meet this requirement."
Previous company (2016) I worked for was Onsite Role. After the Pandemic (March 2020). No one was allowed to go to work Onsite. That was given by the government guidelines. So worked at home for a while. Afterwards. When the guidelines started lifting. The company switched to a hybrid model. Even though I was still going into the office.
So no idea why they provided me with this feedback. Looking at my CV all my other roles were onsite. And that's years of onsite experience.
Me, personally. I believe they didn't offer me the role when I told them when asked the question. If I had any time off (booked). I mentioned 3 weeks in total from July and August.
This is just my opinion. But seriously, what else could it be? because that feedback was nonsense.
