I spotted a walk in interview call for position of 'Business consultant in a local classified with a generic description for opening. Impression of overall workspace seems good as it was my first entry in any consulting firm in UAE.
A typical opening of conversation between me and interviewer began but opening question wasn't so impressive as much was mentioned about me in my resume then a question 'Tell about yourself' wasn't appealing me to start ambitiously. Well. I managed to start and was expecting that interview much interactive rather than something like 'viva at high school.
In response to question that why I should be hired, I started skill matching of mine to what job description required but that moment was so awkward, when I felt that even interviewer wasn't well aware that what's written in Job description. Then I manage to switch my conversation that how I can add value while working as business consultant at firm by doing good work under company's service portfolio mentioned at their broacher placed at reception flyer stand and at website.
Finally interviewer confessed that what mentioned on marketing material isn't all what company do and role of 'business consultant isn't more than a selling job.
I was astonished to look into ground reality and then I thought yes 'its truly been said, all golden things aren't Gold.
