      IT Engineer Interview

      26 Jun 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Active Network (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2015

      Interview

I applied directly to the company and was asked to come in to their downtown office. Got dressed up, hassle through driving and parking in the downtown area, and found out I was only here to take an on-line aptitude and personality test. You know, "...a train is travel East at 50mph, blah blah.." Don't even think you can finish this test in the allotted time. The do NOT validate parking. Called back for a follow up interview. GREAT! Get dressed up again, same downtown hassle, now I get to talk to some people, right? Not so fast. I sit at a table and someone comes in and plunks down a test booklet. Test? AGAIN! Arrrrrr! A thick one too. Crap. Just when you thought your test taking days were behind you. Done with the test. Finally some people walk in. Time for some pleasantries.... nope. Technical review time. Someone please start the Jeopardy game music as each person fires a question at you. "..How many this..? What's the name of that..? If you were on the furthest dwarf planet in the Sagittarius constellation and you had to cluster enough servers to get back to Earth what would the command structure look like?..." The didn't validate my parking.... AGAIN! Here's the killer.. I was never notified afterwards. Nothing. I sent a followup email and it was rejected. Not only did they NOT call me or anything, they blocked my email address. Go figure?
