I interviewed with Aaron’s for an Executive Compensation Consultant role. The process included an initial recruiter screening followed by multiple rounds of interviews with leadership and stakeholders. Discussions focused on executive compensation, incentive plan design, governance, proxy support, and broad-based compensation experience. Throughout the process, communication was generally positive, although timelines were impacted by ongoing merger-related activity within the organization. After progressing through several rounds, I was invited onsite for a final in-person interview with senior HR leadership, including the CHRO/CPO. The interviews themselves were professional and conversational, and the team appeared genuinely interested in my background and experience. However, after completing the process, I received a generic automated rejection email through the company’s ATS system that did not reference the specific role, which felt impersonal given the number of interviews and time invested throughout the process.
