Interview
I applied to various AT&T wireless locations and received a call back from one location about 2 weeks later. Initially I ignored the call because it was a NJ area code but they left a voicemail and i promptly called them back. They told me they had an interview slot available for 4:30pm Tuesday, the next day and scheduled it for then. Upon arriving I asked for the manager who would be conducting my interview and was told to wait for him in the waiting area. I had to wait about 15-20min to get interviewed due to them having a visit from AT&T's high-ups. Apparently, this was suppose to be a group interview with 3 managers but because of the visit it turned into a 1 on 1 with a different manager.
He was really nice and made me feel really comfortable during the interview. Since this is a retail/sales based position they really try to make sure that you are outgoing and willing to interact with strangers as well as comfortable with meeting sales goals and quotas. He asked the basic questions such as what is great customer service, how would you sell a phone or accessory to a customer, your past work experience and educational background etc. He also discussed hours for both part-time and full-time employees. Overall, it lasted about 30 minutes and I could tell he really liked my outgoing personality and flexibility with my availability.
Based on this interview and what the manager told me is to remember this is a commission based position so if you are not comfortable selling and meeting an assigned quota every month dont apply, also if you dislike working late hours or weekends this is not a position for you as well.
He told me that if i make it to the next step I will be contacted, its been 2weeks and I have not heard from them, nor has my application status been updated on their website so I'm still crossing my fingers
It is a basic customer service and teamwork questions. Asks you to teach them how to do something you're passionate about. Nothing crazy or unexpected. Laid back but professional, answered all my questions as well.

Interview
Interview itself is pretty easy. The two times I've interviewed with them as varied based on the manager, but they're pretty forthright with everything they're telling you and the expectations of the job.
After the initial interview, the store will likely assess your product knowledge. They may ask you about various cell phone models, features, or accessories, and how you would explain them to customers. This is to evaluate your ability to understand and communicate technical information.
