I applied after finding the listing in the ABC website and sending my resume and portfolio to the provided email. The HR manager got back to me to set up an phone interview (which somehow took 5 days from me sending my availability), and I did a quick, relatively generic phone screen with that same HR manager. I made it clear that I would be moving for the position, and she indicated that that would be fine. I then had a second phone screen with the hiring manager which went well, and advanced to an in person round at ABC’s headquarters in NYC. I had a bad taste in my mouth after they refused to reimburse me for my train ride to the city, but went on to have a great in person interview with two more senior staff members. I felt great about the interview and was told that I’d hear shortly about next steps. After one full month and no response—even after four follow up emails—I’ve finally moved on, but I’m incredibly disappointed with the way the HR manager chose to conduct herself, especially as a candidate who had been through three rounds of interviews over the course of five weeks.
