I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at @hand (Austin, TX) in Oct 2013
Interview
Talked to some of their software devs at a campus recruiting event and answered a simple programming problem (one of those classic pointer problems).
Got a call soon after to setup a one on one interview with the software director. That initial interview lasted about 1-2hr and included some technical questions but was mostly conversational.
A few weeks later, there was a half-day on-site interview in Austin:

Group interview 1
Group interview 2
Lunch
The people involved made every step of the interview process an enjoyable experience.

Was contacted via email for asking for a 30-min phone interview. This was followed by a 3 hour on-site interview: first a 1 hour company briefing then two 1-hour technical interviews.
