How are the career development opportunities at Kennedys?

      Kennedys reviews

      Friendly and fun culture

      Senior recruitment manager
      Former contractor
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

One of the most genuinely nice HR/recruitment teams I have been part of with and tons of fun to work with. Hybrid working policy is also very good as is internal progression opportunities for administrative staff. Dedicated Responsible Business team.

      Cons

Senior management could maybe be slightly more visible. I'm also not sure how cohesive the culture was across different departments and offices.

Supportive coworkers but limited career growth

      Paralegal
      Current contractor
      Brisbane
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great co workers and people to work with

      Cons

No career progression/ opportunity Very limited work in Brisbane

      Outdated Practices and Poor Leadership

      Associate
      Former employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - There are some dedicated and hardworking colleagues. - Good work life balance

      Cons

      - Outdated Approach: The firm is stuck in its old ways and lacks innovation. It’s a highly traditional environment that doesn’t adapt well to new methods or technologies. If you are looking for growth and modern practices, this company falls short. - Leadership Issues: There is a lack of strong leadership. The leadership team struggles with managing people effectively. There is little to no support for professional growth or clear direction on where the company is heading. - Poor Communication: Communication is a major issue. There’s a constant feeling of being left in the dark, and important information is not shared efficiently. Misunderstandings and confusion are common. - Salary: Compensation is below industry standards, and the pay does not match the effort or the level of responsibility expected. The firm needs to be more competitive in offering salaries to attract and retain talent. - Limited Career Growth: There is no clear path for career advancement. The firm doesn’t prioritise employee development, and feedback is minimal or non-existent.

      Cons

Good work-life balance but lacks career growth

      Associate
      Former employee
      Midtown New York
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Nice, work life balance is good

      Cons

      No career growth, under compensated

      Overworked and underpaid

      Litigation assistant
      Current employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Wellbeing day, PMI, good mat pay

      Cons

Sudden and dramatic change in company culture with pressure from above filtering down. No recognition of hard work, time in service. Pay does not reflect output and competitors offer significantly more in terms of salary and package. Lots of regional recruitment making the London office quiet and lacking team morale. Little understanding for working mums and return from maternity.

      2

Solid firm but room for improvement

      Mid-level employee
      Current employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The firm provides reliable job security and a steady work environment. Generally manageable workload with some flexibility in work hours. Business services teams are skilled and dedicated, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

      Cons

Salaries are competitive but not exceptional compared to industry standards. Decision-making can be slow due to layered management and bureaucratic procedures. Opportunities for promotion and career growth are somewhat restricted.
