☀️ Tapping into sunshine to power Tesco stores ☀️ We’re proud to share that we have teamed up with Greenvolt Next Ireland to significantly expand solar energy generation across our larger stores nationwide. By the end of 2025, solar panels will be installed across 24 Tesco locations with Greenvolt Next Ireland and by ourselves, generating enough clean, green energy to provide over 20% of each of these store's annual electricity needs. It's enough clean electricity to power around over 1,000 homes every year! 🏡⚡ This milestone boosts our total renewable energy capacity to 6.2 GWh annually, reinforcing Tesco’s role as a sustainability leader in Irish retail and our commitment to a cleaner, greener future.
We’ve got news ! We're investing €40 million to open 10 new stores across the country - and creating 400 new jobs along the way! This expansion means more opportunities for Customer Assistants, GHS Drivers, and Line Managers - and brings our permanent team to over 13,500 across Ireland. 📍 Highlights include: ✅ 100 new roles in our upcoming Cork store in Fermoy ✅ as well as new stores coming to Dublin, Galway, Louth, and Meath.
