This is how we welcome new team members! Last week, nearly 80 new colleagues from all over the world joined our onboarding sessions in California and Amsterdam. We host these sessions several times throughout the year because our people are our strength! These two days were all about building connections, embracing our culture and learning what makes Prologis tick! It was the perfect kickoff to an exciting journey ahead. To everyone who joined us – welcome to Prologis!
To support the Habitat ReBUILD LA™ Wildfire Relief effort, Prologis is contributing 120,000 square feet of warehouse space to store donated goods. Our donation will help Habitat for Humanity manage and distribute furniture and household essentials to families rebuilding after the wildfires. Prologis has been a part of the Los Angeles community for 30 years and has partnered with Habitat LA since 2015, engaging more than 100 volunteers in hands-on projects to build and restore homes. Thank you to our partners at One Plumbing and Smith and Severson Builders for donating their services and Papé Material Handling for donating a forklift to help Habitat LA manage operations and support the campaign’s logistics.
With emotions running high and goosebumps all around, the 46 participants of Prologis Spain’s First National PARKpadel Tournament did an amazing job! Eight logistics parks from Madrid and Barcelona came together for a friendly yet fierce competition, showing that their skills extend beyond the warehouse and onto the court! We give a big applause to the Airpharm Logistics winners and the Salvador Escoda and Stark Future finalists. Ready for a rematch? 🔥We’re already excited for next year’s PARKpadel! 🎾
Black History Month is a time for reflection, learning and action. This month, Prologis teams across the U.S. are visiting museums dedicated to Black history, deepening our understanding of the past and its impact on the present.
In the spirit of supporting future leaders, the Prologis Foundation has donated on behalf of our Black Industrial Leadership Network to 100 Black Men of Atlanta, an organization committed to mentorship, education and economic empowerment. In past years, we’ve also supported the Emerging 100 of Atlanta, an affiliate focused on mentoring young Black professionals. Supporting mentorship and education is a continuous commitment for our organization. Our team joined 100 Black Men of America in Atlanta to present their donation:
Look around. Every item you see has, at some point, journeyed through the supply chain – from your phone to your clothes to the food you had for breakfast! 🍏 A group of students from Istituto Superiore Francesco Crispi got a behind-the-scenes look during their visit to our Milano DC3 facility as part of the “Wednesday is the Market” project. Thanks to our customers Salvi Milano and partner Mercato Agroalimentare Milano, they explored the world of fruit and vegetable logistics up close and gained valuable insights into how fresh products move through the supply chain, from farms to markets. A hands-on educational experience highlighting logistics’ role in the agricultural industry! 🌱
When the rhythm is right, the team’s culture shines bright! ✨ And the Japanese HR, IT and comms teams had great rhythm during this recent team-building activity! The session kicked off with a pottery class, where everyone rolled up their sleeves and got their hands messy. Later, they dove into a Taiko (Japanese drum) class 🥁 Powered by the beat of don-don doko-don, the team found their groove and created awesome music 🎶 What a fun way to connect with coworkers!
What happens when you focus on the things that matter most – like happy customers, engaged employees and a culture of innovation? You attract the best customers, the best employees and the best partners, and they drive stronger business outcomes, better solutions and greater impact. The Wall Street Journal has released its ranking of the Top 250 Best Managed Companies of 2024, and we earned an even higher spot on the list this year. Thank you to everyone who contributes to our continued success!
Let's set the tone for an amazing weekend, shall we? Prologis is one of The Wall Street Journal's top 10 companies for employee engagement...but we're the only one that, in Hamid's words, "nobody has heard of." The Wall Street Journal decided to dive deep to uncover the culture of autonomy, innovation and risk-taking that landed our little-known company on their radar for employee engagement, and ultimately, on their list of 250 Best-Managed Companies of 2023, developed by The Drucker Institute. Our teams had an incredible time celebrating PRIDE last month, immersing themselves in activities that celebrated the theme, "Our Pride, Our Prologis." An insightful global panel discussion featured hashtag#PrologisPrideNetwork (PPN) member stories about embracing their identity at Prologis and beyond. Employees created beautiful works of art and learned about the LGBTQIA+ community. Our Tokyo team even welcomed LGBTQIA+ inclusivity expert Ayumu Horikawa to discuss how to be an ally in the workplace! PPN chose to donate to Free Mom Hugs, which advocates for equality for the LGBTQIA+ community by providing resources, education and support at community events.
