Owing to inefficiencies in the IT Asset Management processes, manual workflows, and poor utilization of tools, one of Microland's clients was facing a severe increase in asset costs. Microland assessed the client to identify the inefficiencies in the ITAM tool and process workflows, and designed and implemented a host of solutions to remediate the gaps identified. MicroGive (Microland’s employee-driven initiative to support social causes) hosted 32 trainees of Pragati towards livelihood - the vocational skill training arm of Biswa Gouri Charitable Trust (BGCT) . BGCT is an esteemed organization that works for individuals with #autism and other intellectual disabilities. The event was a day of unique celebrations with exciting activities such as art and craft making, dancing & singing performances, and rangoli making for the trainees. The event’s highlight was the Magic Show performed for the young adults, which exhilarated one and all present. The gamut of fun activities was followed by a delicious lunch served by Mitti Café, a café that employs people with special abilities. We express our gratitude to the faculty from BGCT for making this a memorable experience and our ‘Buddies’ for conducting it so well. When it comes to #education, there is a glaring inequity between rural/semi-urban and urban areas, and #literacy is the only tool and the most critical enabler of social, human, and economic development. While with a slew of government initiatives, the rural/semi-urban have witnessed proper infrastructure and better literacy rates, speaking confidently in English is still a challenge for children in rural India. Understanding the importance of English being used worldwide to communicate, Microland Foundation, a dedicated social development arm of Microland Limited, in partnership with the Department of Education, Tamil Nadu, and Learning Matters has introduced a program to enhance English proficiency in Government schools with TARA.
