Minister Neale Richmond Visits Home Instead Leopardstown Recently, Minister Neale Richmond TD, Minister of State for Business, Employment, and Retail, was warmly welcomed by Home Instead Leopardstown. The occasion was a visit to the Leopardstown office, serving Dublin South East, where he met with dedicated Home Instead CAREGivers benefiting from the newly introduced employment permit, enabling them to work in the caregiving sector in Ireland. Until recently, people from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wanted to work as Health Care Assistants could apply for a work permit and gain employment within a nursing home, but not within the home care sector. Fortunately, this has now changed and Home Instead is delighted to participate in the new permit scheme, offering work permits to existing non-EEA staff already living in Ireland on temporary visas, and employing new people from outside the EEA. Home Instead is growing its workforce across Ireland, and whilst staff employed on General Permits will likely remain a minority of our hires, to those people who are supported and cared for in their own homes by someone employed on a General Permit, they mean everything.
