New Policy Alert! The current maternity & adoptive leave legislation in Ireland does not allow for deferral in the event of serious illness such as cancer. New parents who find themselves in this situation spend their leave undergoing treatment & attending medical appointments & get to spend little or no time with their newborn before returning to the workplace. The Irish Cancer Society have been advocating on the #LeaveOurLeave campaign and are calling on Government to amend legislation. We hope the legislation is reformed, but in the meantime we are delighted to launch a new policy to provide for sick leave to be deferred & taken after maternity or adoptive leave.
