🎁 You streamed. You binged. You argued about Die Hard. 2025 was a year of standout viewing on Channel 4, with streaming viewer minutes alone reaching 69 billion - up 14 per cent year on year. But how did the nation spend their time in front of the screen? In our festive-themed roundup, we’ve celebrated the UK’s Altogether Different Viewing Habits - from those who streamed Christmas classics in the middle of a heatwave, to the superfans taking part in marathon reality TV binges.
✨🌍 Channel 4’s Altogether Different content sparked real-world change in 2025. From Educating Yorkshire inspiring careers in education, and Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill prompting families to rethink ultra-processed foods, to Jamie’s Dyslexia Revolution raising awareness of the challenges dyslexic people face and Big Boys encouraging more open conversations about mental health – viewers aren’t just watching our programmes; they’re thinking, feeling and doing differently as a result. Across our 2025 Social Impact Studies, one thing is clear: Channel 4 delivers clear, measurable social impact – informing, inspiring and creating real-world change. #AltogetherDifferent
Last Friday King Charles delivered a message during Stand Up To Cancer, driving awareness of cancer screening and sharing the importance of early diagnosis. It is therefore great to see… 🎉 The screening checker has been visited over 125,000 times since it was launched on December 5, with the majority using the online tool following the special message from King Charles that aired on Channel 4 during Stand Up To Cancer on Friday night. The Screening Checker is a simple, interactive tool designed to help people quickly check which NHS and PHA (Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland) cancer screening programmes they are eligible for, and access helpful advice on the screening process. At least 9 million people in the UK are not up to date with their cancer screening. Screening is a way to detect cancer early when treatment is more likely to be successful, and in some cases can prevent the disease developing in the first place. But, at the moment, many people don’t take up their NHS invitations. Even working out whether you are eligible for cancer screenings can be complicated. To change that, the campaign is launching a simple online screening checker, designed to help people quickly work out if screening is for them. Let’s keep spreading the word! To check if you are eligible for NHS / PHA cancer screening go to www.screeningchecker.co.uk

Score! Africa Cup of Nations 2025 to air exclusively on Channel 4 ⚽️ For the first time ever, the tournament will be available to watch for free in the UK with Channel 4 having won exclusive rights to broadcast the tournament in a historic deal with The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF). “Bringing the excitement and drama of the African Cup of Nations exclusively to UK free-to-air television for the first time is such a compelling proposition for Channel 4. So many Premier League stars will be playing in the tournament and having Liverpool legend Mo Salah on Channel 4 on Boxing Day, when traditional Premier League football coverage has been reduced elsewhere, means football fans will still be able to get their thrill of festive fixtures.” - Pete Andrews, Head of Sport, Channel 4
