How much does a Desktop Engineer make in Ireland?

Hello, I had a job in the it networking role for 25 years I have recently been let go of my duties about 5 months ago and of having a real real real bad time trying to find anything remotely what I used to do. It's like my job has been phased out. I was a support specialist and a technical support specialist but it seems like all those roles now roll up into tier one which I am not. Can anybody help me please? I know that a lot of people are in the same boat as me, but I'm looking for advice

Hi everyone, I need guidance in the future, as I'm starting with Computer Technician, and now as Desktop Support Engineer, how do I proceed in the future? Am I qualified to go to the back end (I don't have a strong background but I'm willing to learn as I'm also learning about Microsoft 365 for my support purposes) or should I continue working the same role in different companies until I achieve Senior Support Engineer? Just asking for suggestions and guidance from all the experts here 🙌🏻

I’m a senior engineer on a large project, among the more experienced in the team, but not formally in an architect or lead role. For those who made the jump to architect or technical lead: what actually enabled that transition? Was it ownership, technical depth, communication, or something else? What would you do differently if you had to do it again?
