Pros
Many of the people at Ideastream are great to work with. There's opportunities to work in both radio and television. People are very friendly and there's always good food a company parties. Some of the more senior people are extremely helpful at educating less knowledgeable staff on the things they need to know and there's a high level of camaraderie. In addition, the facilities are fantastic-state of the art everything, good layout, and lots of room to grow.
Cons
"It'll all be better in the new building." This was the phrase popularized as the two stations, WCPN and WVIZ merged into a new and improved combined television and radio station. After the merge, it became the thing you'd say when something or someone broke down. Unfortunately, there are several managers here that are less than desirable to work with. "Its just the way things are," is not acceptable and its why employee retention is so low.
