30% positive business outlook
Pros
Very good and professional developers
Cons
Poor management decision lead to money lost and lays off without explanation
Pros
- It’s a neat product and fun to sell - There’s a select few people at the company who are really talented (Talent team, CS team, teams in Tel Aviv, select members on the sales team) - Relative autonomy on the sales side Fantastic CS team + CS leadership - I learned what *not* to do when scaling a sales team (which is arguably just as beneficial as what *to* do)
Cons
1. Leadership: For the most part - ineffective and inexperienced. The decisions leadership makes at the high level make one question whether or not the company is in good hands. Numerous decisions were made over time that lacked any and all insight. Serious decisions are made by 2-3 people behind closed doors who, incidentally, are all making those decisions for the first time — completely neglecting those they hired to assist in that same decision making process. This results in talent feeling ineffective, disrespected, and ultimately — resentful. 2. Culture: At one time it was a fun and collaborative environment. However, overtime Yotpo made some poor hiring decisions which ultimately had a permanent and long lasting negative impact on the overall culture. Culture is top down. When the mantra of the org is defined by a few ego-centric individuals, the rest of the org inherits this same self-centered mindset. There isn’t a single individual to blame — it’s been more of a failed group effort from the top down. 3. Communication: There is literally none. Zero transparency. It’s actually pretty incredible how this company has no idea how to communicate internally. Instead, it results in a waterfall effect. Overtime, it becomes apparent that this is actually done on purpose which seemingly suggests a malicious intent. Toward the end of my time with Yotpo I became very disappointed with how myself and others were being treated — and no one was doing anything about it. Many talented people have come and gone from the company and what’s fascinating is no one seems to be bothered by it. It’s as if leadership is under some sort of spell — “why would anyone want to leave?” is a frighteningly popular sentiment. If Yotpo wants to continue to grow, it needs to hire smart and experienced individuals — instead of relying on those who may have outgrown their use. In this case, the grass actually IS greener.
Pros
Good and hard working colleagues, opportunity to learn new stuff.
Cons
Toxic management, underpaid, hard work taken for granted, and decisions are made without involving the employee.
Pros
* If you're in a junior position, this might be a great place to learn and kickstart your career. * Really nice people for the most part, which creates a pleasant work environment. * The small perks and gifts every now and then are really nice and thoughtful. * Yotpo is highly involved in the community and takes social responsibility.
Cons
* Compensation overall isn't competitive in today's market, especially considering the recent changes in Yotpo strategic plans. * Some decisions are made on 'political' basis, without proper professional consideration and evaluation. * The company is promoting unprofessional employees and managers to leadership positions. * Yotpo's culture is a bit over PC, which is great on a personal level but should not affect business decisions, the quality of the work, or the qualifications for positions in the company etc.
Pros
Decent salary, desire for product innovation, solid benefits.
Cons
Lack of transparency from leadership, thoughtless and hasty decisions that lead to constant change - No credibility or trust based on this approach, lack of investment in people and career growth, work life balance is a challenge with families. Overall it seems like Yotpo struggled with their identity, making hasty decisions at the sacrifice of employees. From my experience, I would say Yotpo is not a genuine people first company.
Pros
Great people and good product
Cons
Some leadership decision were questionable
Pros
Exposure to big name / fast growing DTC brands, great inbound demand which helps you level up quickly
Cons
Processes change quickly and are not developed well, leadership tends to make bad decisions
Pros
I can’t think of any pros to working at Yotpo.
Cons
A company with no compassion and no regard for its employees. There are no genuine growth opportunities. You might get promoted, but your salary will stay the same—just more empty promises to keep you quiet. People are pushed out or fired without warning, treated as disposable. Management operates without a clue, making reckless decisions, and when someone is fired, they lie to the rest of the staff, claiming the person “left on their own.”
Pros
Good tech, nice people, dynamic job, hybrid hours.
Cons
The management take bad decisions every 3 months. There were a lot of layoffs recently, no options to be promoted, my salary is the same almost since I started working here.
Pros
* You have the freedom to do experiments (technologies, system design paradigms, etc) due to the lack of technical leadership and knowledge. * A lot of nice and fun people around you * Company shares its goals and high-level strategy with all of the employees.
Cons
It seems like some of the people in management roles got there for staying a lot of years at Yotpo + friendship with higher management, and not by skills and accomplishments. The company have fine goals, but no good management to fulfill them. It feels like a bit of a chaotic situation. * Dev teams domains are changing without any particular reason or proper onboarding/knowledge transfer (in or out). * Company tries to set some technical standards, but you feel no real impact on the day-to-day. * A lot of management decision seems to be hasted with no real research. So currently, it is hard for a junior dev to learn things and get better, and its hard for an experienced dev to make an impact, because he will be ignored by management.
