Pros

There were none. They moved me across the country and left me high and dry. Do not recommend. Stay far, far away.

Cons

I was a contract worker. I was brought across the country for an alleged 18 month position with a large biotechnology company (a company I will call A). I was not given relocation assistance, but I thought 18 months of work would be worth it. I was laid off after 6 weeks because A's plants are shutting down and they don't have enough work for me. My recruiter knew that and got me out here anyway just so she could make money off of my contract. Every recruiter I have talked to *since* I was laid off (since I am obviously in need of a new job) has known that A was in trouble. None of them can believe that Yoh moved me out here for this. And now I'm stranded, jobless, with a 12 month lease in a place far from family and friends. All so Yoh could make a buck. I haven't heard from my recruiter since I got laid off (aside from her telling me to turn my security badge back in to A), and I doubt I ever will. Run, don't walk, away from this company

Pros

- Uncapped commission - Ability to create your own financial success if you don't care about having a personal life - Decent benefits (minus the PTO) - There are some really great people here, and I believe that there are some managers who truly do want to help you, they're just spread too thin.

Cons

- Your experience at Yoh depends entirely on what division you work in, but if you're considering a role in Specialty Practices, specifically the IT practice, RUN FOR THE HILLS. If you see the same job postings all the time, it's not because of growth, but turnover. - As a Recruiter, there are very few actual "good" jobs to work on (e.g. exclusive, little competition, non-VMS run, etc.). - They are constantly hiring Business Development Managers and then fire them after a few months when they aren't bringing in any business. They also operate very lean, so the BDMs who are bringing in business don't get the recruiting support they need. Some offices have 2-3 BDMs for every Recruiter. It should be the other way around. - Up until a few months ago, there was zero training, and now, the people who are leading the training have no idea how to actually do the jobs they're training for because they haven't been a Recruiter or BDM in 15+ years. They have no idea what technology exists to help us do our jobs. They rely on the Branch Managers to train people, yet the Branch Managers are also expected to run a full desk, go on meetings to help bring in new business and manage their teams. I feel terrible for the Managers there and all they have on their plate. They have no time to actually help their employees, they're spread too thin - it's no wonder a few have left the company recently. - PTO is terrible. You only have 2 weeks vacation for the first 10 years! - If you're good at your job, you will have no life, because you need to work around the clock in order to be successful - I think my entire office was miserable and looking for other jobs. - Management has no idea how to operate this division of the business. There's too much competition in the industry to work here over other staffing firms. An uncapped commission plan means nothing without a proper business model in place. - If you're a BDM, don't expect to get contracts signed. I felt so bad for the people trying to bring in clients who couldn't get anything past legal. All of the clients that would've given us good business were met with so many objections from the legal team that many of the contracts died in the process. Given Day & Zimmermann's other businesses, there's a conflict with everything. Maybe they shouldn't own a staffing firm? - There's absolutely no culture or fun to be had unless you work in the HQ office in Philadelphia. No office perks, either. - You want to get a hold of HR to talk about an issue? Expect to wait several days for a response.

Pros

You are given the chance to adjust and change your line of business. Your experience changes based on the client - not Yoh

Cons

Dated systems, east coast based support, senior leadership with no real handle of what is going on in the field, lack of support, NO training or mentorship - sink or swim mentality. EAST COAST BASED COMPANY - very conservative. Often felt my "flare" was looked down upon.

Sounds like you worked on a large account with many competing priorities and you didn’t feel we provided adequate support for your mission. While Yoh has many examples of efficient large accounts that work for both our customers and our staff, our goal is to do better each day. Investing in new systems and training are some examples of this. Yoh has always honored its commitments to staff, employees and suppliers and will continue to do so. We take integrity and ethics very seriously and we expect ethical conduct from all of our employees. Lastly, many of our senior leaders over the past few years have come from within and rose up through the ranks. We hope that this perspective will help to address your concerns.
