Pros
Good place to get experience. Halfway decent way to move up in TV markets from a small one. Coworkers are great. Seriously, it's almost like a family in the newsroom, as everyone else is united against management. Christmas bonus most years, and double pay on holidays.
Cons
As of end of 2015, the three people running the news room are bullies. They broke my contract more than a dozen times, and got angry every time I pointed it out. HR is worthless: we had a coworker making threats against us, and HR did nothing. Management routinely screams at employees for management's own mistakes. Most people are lured in with lies about "how great it is to work there," then a few weeks later find out the horrible truth. Little opportunity for promotion from within. Best bet for advancement is to move to another station/market.
