Pros

Absolutely nothing good to say about this company

Cons

Vitec is all about who you know and how well you can flatter management rather than ability. The leadership team are uninspiring, rude, demanding, don't appear to be engaged with their own teams and what is happening. More interested in making themselves look good. Same 'favourites' are always the ones that get the benefits and opportunities. Large number of hard working staff seem to be invisible. Communication is an issue, not confident with management decisions that have been made. Issues are not addressed. There were times in my employment that I was spoken to in such a way that I would not expect my worst enemy to speak to me in such a way, let alone a colleague or management. Overall lots of issues urgently need addressing to avoid an increase in already high staff turnover.

Pros

There are still people within the organization that truly care about the business and the people.

Cons

The problem with this company is the CEO. The people are good people who care about the business, but that is not what we have leading us. He pretends to care about the people and speaks of treating people with respect. He is exactly the opposite of that. The true CEO recently just came out at the North American Town Hall. He was in the middle of speaking to the entire division and there were technical difficulties with the speakers for those of us who joined remotely. He completely lost it on the technical IT person who was hosting it. He flipped out and humiliated this employee over a speaker and noise. This has been done to many employees within the organization, sadly it's behavior that is tolerated by all. Is that a Leader or a BOSS? You decide. Definition of Leader: the person who leads or commands a group or organization. Definition of a BOSS: a person in charge of a organization, gives orders in a domineering manner

I was very disappointed to read this review as I, and other senior colleagues from Vitec, spend time in the Divisional offices and feedback from working with a wide range of employees is that the Senior Leadership Team in your business is doing a great job, led by a strong and visionary Divisional CEO. They have my, and the Board’s, full support to continue to deliver the long-term strategy that they have been set to enable us to continue to compete effectively. I care passionately about our employees and our customers, and am proud of our exceptionally strong brands and the ability of our people. I am impressed that everyone in your Division is working together to produce great products that delight our customers, and building a business that is outperforming almost every competitor in similar markets. I urge you and other anonymous reviewers on Glassdoor to contact me directly if you have any specific concerns. I operate an ‘open door policy’, so please do email me at: sbird@vitecgroup.com

Paralysed workforce at the beck and call of one individual

Pros

This company could be so good if we had the right leader. We have great brands and products and despite everything, the people (not talking about the leadership here) are consistently supportive, conscientious, committed, good people. If we actually had a great leader, with a clear strategy who gave a damn about people, this could be a great place to work.

Cons

Where to start. The top. The current leader manages through intimidation and bullying. You can have an opinion, just as long as it matches his. The company has been in disarray for a number of years, but the current management style is affecting employees more than ever. I see many people all over the world when travelling for work, and not one site that I have visited is untouched, many employees are broken. If you are thinking of joining Vitec, I would think again.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for the delayed response. I do read and take all reviews seriously. I believe that after experiencing some very difficult market conditions Vitec has changed for the better and in most areas is already a great company to work for. I’m sorry that’s not your experience. My job is to make the company world class. We may not be world class in every area yet but we are leaders in the markets where we operate. I am listening - please email me directly to discuss your specific concerns at: sbird@vitecgroup.com
