Pros

- Good work life balance. - Good cross functional experience if you have a boss who you get along with/likes you. - Good benefits offered especially if you are Caucasian women. Double points if you belong to Scandinavian countries.

Cons

- Very bureaucratic with a power centre in Stockholm. If you are not in the HQ, you will miss out on a lot of good project work and career advancement opportunities - No clear strategy or focus. There is a change in management every few months. People move around and when they do, they do not take responsibility of the mess they left behind due to their bad decisions. - Although it claims to, but Vattenfall does not promote diversity. Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities are side-lined. You will find Caucasians in all the important jobs, boards and team leads and few token diversity hires in teams. You will find people from certain countries and backgrounds will always be promoted their work applauded while others, even if they work twice as hard, will be side-lined/not promoted or rewarded. Walk into any Vattenfall office and you can count the number of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority people, who are not contractors/temp staff, by one hand. - Company wants everyone to work, behave like the Scandinavian model which is the best model according to Vattenfall. Local differences are pushed aside. - More emphasis on 'who you know' than 'what you know'.

Pros

- This is a company that puts its workforce at the top of the value chain. Personal health and your mental and physical well being is genuinely the top priority for them. They are not there to exploit you for maximum performance like some other employers. They want you to feel happy and motivated for your job. One of the key priorities for our department is that you have fun at work. - Company culture revolves around honesty, transparency, respect, dignity and wellbeing. You will feel this from day 1. Very scandi, but in a good way. - Clear expectations, but not expected to over commit to an unattainable goal. You will not be expected to do any overtime at all, unless something very critical has come up. - Competent management with a great vision for a fossil free future and for growth in all areas, priorities are set transparently, they are leaders rather than managers. - You will be empowered to make your own choices and set your own goals, especially within business development. This allows for entrepreneurship and ultimately better opportunities to be generated. - Very well paid, good benefits including private healthcare and a very generous pension scheme - Company has a strong financial position, and expands in a healthy way. - Lots of support available from within different units from within the business.

Cons

- Lack of a strong commission/bonus structure means that business developers are not incentivised to go above and beyond - HR can be slow, and rigid. They will be the ones limiting your payrise or having delayed responses - Career progression should be planned and discussed more

Pros

Flexible employer with consideration for work life balance. Good pay and secondary benefits

Cons

Swedish national company limits career perspective for foreigners. Cumbersome decision making delegating decision power all the way to the CEO often.
