Pros

working with the clients was the best , the experience of working with individuals who has a history of homelessness, mental health and substance abuse was rewarding and challenging; clinical support staff onsite i.e. nurses and psychiatrists. Staff appreciation, early dismissal in the summer, work hours are good

Cons

Low pay and poor benefits, lack of team work from colleagues, lack of casework practice, there is no focus on the clients needs or clinical reviews, lack of training on case management skills and engaging clients, lack of support for clients and the goal is to provide supportive case management but there is no support....smh unprofessionalism in the offices, bullying and isolation. Some staff have no clue on how to engage clients with certain issues or backgrounds and do not wish to learn Lack of importance on quality of work and outcomes.

Pros

During the summer you get to leave early on Fridays.

Cons

Management talks down to staff and uses bullying tactics. The case managers can't plan their day because of the everyday interruptions and dysfunctional antics from management. The culture there is unprofessional. Case Mangers are sent out into the field by themselves and management don't care about your safety. Their only concern is if you made the visit and do you have a case note immediately. Not asking and/or seeing was the client needs taken care of? They don't pay for your car mileage and but expect you to go out into the field almost everyday. There is a lot of paper work and unrealistic expectations to get the work done. They have paper work that should have been completed 1 year ago that's given to new staff. A lot of under-cover fraud going on. Also you have to make sure your paycheck is correct every pay period.

Pros

Helping homeless and those with mental illness reach their housing goals.

Cons

A lot of work and responsibility for not a lot of pay and recognition. This is typical in the human service sector of non-profits, however there should be more of a sense of 'sharing' responsibilities on all levels.
