Pros

Urban Insight is a small, yet growing Digital Agency. I did not actually know what a Digital Agency was prior to working here, but that's part of the fun of taking a new job in a different sector, there's always lots to learn. The owner is a kind and friendly guy who takes a personal interest in all areas of his business and makes an effort to get to know both technical and non-technical staff alike. This would be a great place for someone who likes a high volume of work and is willing to give 100% to each individual project. There are a plethora of options for continued learning and UI regularly sponsors the attendance of DrupalCon and similar events.

Cons

The largest con for me is that it wasn't a good fit and ultimately didn't work out. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this job or company to someone else. I came in hoping to learn Drupal and WordPress module development but never really took to either platform and greatly disliked the Drupal way of doing things, not to mention its peculiar database structure. The other con for me was in the area of time management and having to allocate every hour worked to each project. I'm originally from a background in SaaS and accustomed to dedicating most of my time to one project. These cons might be pros for someone else, and a lot of people do love Drupal.

Pros

Urban Insight is a rapidly growing agency. Some things that make UI stand out. Outstanding remote work policy. Weekly team meetings to identify, discuss, and solve department problems. A Management team that leads and inspires Support of a work / life balance Yearly goals, reviews, and quarterly check-ins for individuals, departments and the organization.

Cons

It can be challenging for some to prioritize their goals over client work but there is time allocated every week for this. You must hold yourself accountable to communicate complete your tasks in a timely manner, this can also be challenging for some.

Pros

What I loved most about Urban Insight was the mellow and collaborative atmosphere. As a small business, there were no corporate politics. The office was peaceful and there was a great deal of understanding around work/life balance. I had a lot of autonomy to do what I needed to do, and a lot of trust that I'd carry it out.

Cons

The usual limitations of a small business; management can make some growth opportunities, but in a staff of 12-14, you don't need a lot of managers. Management makes up for that by sending staff regularly to conferences and events and trainings.
