Pros

Golf. If you love golf it's great. It's a lot of fun to be around the game. Most of the staff is enjoyable too.

Cons

Management is all about politics and talking. They make the environment not fun and play favorites. If you hang out with the management outside work, you are at a huge advantage. Management also tells you one thing and does the other. This all started happening after the new executive director took over.

Pros

Benefits - health, retirement match, vacation time/comp days - very generous The vacation time/comp days cannot be matched.

Cons

It pains me to write how disappointing working at the USGA has become. Over time, layers have continued to be added, distancing the CEO from the employees. It is a top heavy organization with many inexperienced people in leadership roles. There is no employee development available. Promotions and pay raises are rare/not significant. There have been employees stuck in the same position for years. Also, company is very secretive and not fully transparent with employees.

Pros

Great place to work if you love the game of golf. Rich traditions and opportunity to impact the future of the game.

Cons

Organization has been in major growth and transition mode for several years. Internal alignment issues between departments creates inefficiency and power struggles.
