Pros

Work primarily with immigrant population

Cons

The staff go through minimal training and are expected to perform to high standards. Each program is isolated, with clicks and toxicity. HR is friends with a lot of the mid and senior level managers, so you can’t receive any help or hold people accountable. Staff are encouraged to gossip by directors to get more information about others. Including directors talking to direct reports about other staff. There is a lot of talking behind your back and also being disrespectful to you. The toxicity keeps growing instead of addressing it. They have high turnover. Staff treats clients with disrespect, as if they’re being bothered by clients.

Pros

The organization does serve it's mission to provide support to communities and survivors of abuse. You work face-to-face with clients to provide comprehensive care and gain experience through the rapport built with clients.

Cons

The nature of the work causes distress and sometimes affects your work-life balance. Management would benefit from outside consulting to review recommendations to improve onboarding and training. The work is rewarding and great to build experience however opportunities for growth are minimal.

Pros

Gained adequate work experience that will benefit my future.

Cons

Management is horrible. Higher leadership was not available when needed. I always felt obligated to work unethically then was undervalued and mistreated after doing the right thing when I felt comfortable enough to report everything. The office I was working at was also so filthy. Some individuals felt entitled to others cleaning after them and purchasing food for them. It was such an uncomfortable space and environment.
