I have been a tutor through Tutor Hunt for over 5 years and gained many students and good feedback from students through them. However at the end of 2019 they decided to change their policy and charge tutors 25% of their lesson fee when it was previously a commission free service. The unfair strategy they have adopted here is to target the popular tutors with lots of feedback and make them put their prices up and therefore lose leads. On their website it states that only tutors who joined after April 2019 would be on the commission service. This is untrue and false advertising. Tutors now have to be paid through Tutor Hunt once they are paid by students, but I have heard bad reviews about this and the fact that they don't pay what is owed to tutors! They're fraudsters. And to top it all off they don't reply to complaint emails from tutors or answer the phone! Who would want to get work through those charlatans? I certainly won't and I advise prospective tutors and students to avoid them with a barge pole.
Cons
Failure to answer support email or answer the phone. Changing their policy but only making it affect select 'popular' tutors as they know they'll be able to milk more from us.

The site used to be good but now you can't get as many students as before and due to the commission the company takes from you (25%) tutors have been forced to increase their fees.

I've been working for Tutorhunt for eight years and unfortunately I had to increase my fees because now they charge tutors a commission of 25% !! On top of this their service is aaawful! I've had some technical problems and when I emailed them they did not reply at all. In one occasion a student called them and requested to change the day of the lesson, they changed it automatically without asking me whether I was available or not!!! I was so, sooo angry as I found this extremely unprofessional. I called them and they could not give me a proper explanation not even an apology!!. Now I need to cancel a lesson with a student who told me is seriously ill, I've contacted them and they keep ignoring me. I can cancel it myself but if I do I get the message I've attached. A terrible company to work with...
