Poor pay structure, seems all engineers are on a different salaries and everyone is subsiding senior managements (or directors as they like to be known) over inflated salaries and car packages. There is a core of long term senior managers who's attitude is my way or the highway, when employee input is requested and given it's just ignored and they carry on regardless usually in the wrong direction. Over the past 4/5 years they have lost many big service contracts but fail to anything about it except take on new contracts with old outdated equipment that nobody else will maintain.

Senior management don't know the industry or care about customers anymore

Old systems and “work around” procedures (because the systems aren’t used in the way they are actually intended) and subsequently a lot of unnecessary admin. Reluctance to change and too much miro-management from an individual in the Senior management team. Not enough investment in IT infrastructure. Computers can be old and slow.

The CEO and his close team do not hive two hoots about the company or the industry. They care about getting their big fat bonuses and running away at high speed as the company sinks into the mire that they created. This will leave hundreds of good people without jobs. They promote the company as 'leveraging IP technology' as of Jan 21 I'd be surprised if any of the senior management knows what IP means! The company is so far behind the technology curve they will never catch up.

The company has been in decline since being sold by the founder to private finance entities. The never ending merry-go-round of Directors, Chairman and senior management have failed to oversea the development of critical new products and allowed the Factory to fall into a poor state of repair. After 10/15 years of miss management and filling directors pockets, the company is now making lower tier employee's pay via mass redundancies. This is being dealt with poorly too, with people left in limbo for weeks to find out there fate.

Seemingly lack of business vision, siloed thinking, saturated blame culture in senior management. Definately a face fit culture... Luckily mine seems to at the moment! Into facilities - it's like working in a cave at Whitley, good luck finding a WC and avoiding bacterial infection - it really is yuk!
