Pros

Decent Salary, challenging work, some autonomy, many areas of improvement and opportunities to improve. New CEO I think is headed in right direction but will take years to undue all of the poor managers.

Cons

Unorganized upper management, do not embrace/use technology, lots of turnover, not given tools or authority to do your job, lots of back-stabbing, employees do not work well together, negative work environment, poor management styles and goal setting, lots of micromanaging. Older generation management do not like new ideas. I've been through business school and hit lots of resistance in the culture. They do not want to hear research or best practices in doing things. Walking into Treetop you will go back in time 10-15 years. Little automation in plants, mountains of paperwork, and manual employee crewing. Little communication companywide. As a production supervisor if you don't spend 60 hour per week at work you will be looked down upon and chastised. Management do not have a concept of work-life balance and balancing workloads. All employees salary and hourly are treated like a number -expense. Production supervisors do 3 jobs - Employee Secretary, Maintenance manager, and production. Too much work to do any one of those very well. Supervisor with 5 years experience I was making about $55,000

Pros

A) great people to work with B) Tree Top is growing and maturing in terms of company values C) 10 year initiative in place beginning with S&OP strategic planning

Cons

Does not value or take into consideration key people that can be molded to be well rounded assets to the company. High turn over rates. Tree Top needs to recognize those employees that go above and beyond and try to keep them.

Handle with extreme Caution: Toxic

Pros

Great people who are exceptionally dedicated to the company. In the face of constant adversity, they shine through most of the time with a wonderful disposition.

Cons

It is hard to know where to begin. The leadership environment is toxic and is based largely upon a system of cronyism. If you are not one of the ordained few from the time you start with the company, you can expect any advancement to take years. You should expect that although the company will have made record profits, you will be told that you did not make the budgeted numbers. While they will admit a 10 hour day is "normal", you should expect to work between 12-16 hours a day, up to 7 days a week. Do not plan on having any sort of home life or "life outside of work". Many people within the company have given up great amounts of their lives chasing the dollar for the company only to have them chase more. The hostile work culture is not something that will change until certain key upper management figures leave or retire from the company. The fact that no one is willing to make these changes sooner is just further evidence of the fear ingrained within the company. Being berated and screamed at is the norm so you will need to ensure you have a thick skin. Although they recruit people who are new, if you are, expect to be treated as a threat to the status quo.
