"Misogynistic management, lots of talk about how important the workplace culture is but when push comes to shove culture means less than nothing, there is too much politics and people trying to big note themselves, management claims to be open to change and suggestions for improvement but staff are blocked from implementing anything, too many people in positions they're not qualified for or have the experience to do properly while people who do have those qualities are actively suppressed or have their lives made so miserable that they leave, managers who are so afraid that their staff are out to take their jobs that they stab them in the back instead of recognizing that good managers encourage and nurture good staff, ridiculous levels of bureaucracy alongside a stunning lack of consistent policies and procedures, underpaid staff while the MD has a Maserati and the CFO just keeps buying big screen TVs, talk about the importance of a work/life balance but just keep piling on the work and people are just supposed to grin and bear it, TOIL is great but you never get time to take it and overtime is a four letter word, some of the managers are real bullies" ((in 3 reviews)); "4) NO TRAINING!" A good company desperately in need of some good leaders

Pros

Transmax is a good company with some great, talented and dedicated staff. Their product is decades old but nonetheless impressive and forever evolving as it should. The work environment is relaxed, inclusive and well managed. The office is also well located and modern. For all of these reasons it's a good company.

Cons

Where the company is let down is with senior management. The CEO's role has been a revolving door, with the current leader stood down pending an investigation into misusing company funds. Staff are generally well underpaid, yet stories of perks and lavish excess at the top don't do well for general morale. Its also like a ghost town at the business end of the building on Fridays. Again, not a good look.

- Some highly skilled and intelligent 'diamond in the rough' staff who do their very best to survive and make the days of their colleagues better - Morning tea provided once a week

Cons

- Nepotism like you've never seen before and a 'jobs for the boys/girls' culture, very strong cliques and silos, some very bitter staff, finger-pointing and blaming is rife - Non-existent training and induction - Many senior and/or long-term staff seem to have a superiority complex that borders on bullying, this does not breed an inclusive and helpful workplace, instead giving more of a 'high school' feel. - Unengaged, unskilled and personally ill-equipped team leaders and management who are out of touch - Government-owned business pretending not to be Government-owned - Complete disregard for the mental health of many staff - Entire business revolves around a horribly outdated piece of software that is not keeping pace with the market, this business may become irrelevant soon - Extremely high staff turnover rate
