Pros

Interesting work and potential growth

Cons

Awful direction, culture and management team. Very stuffy environment that does not value the employee but only the bottom line and their egos. Very non-professional employee relationships with clients.

We appreciate your feedback and service, thank you. As a growing company, it's always helpful to hear constructive reviews. Regarding your note on direction, as a startup, we expect individual employees to come prepared with their own ideas and motivations to create their own path and help establish guidelines for newcomers in the future. Some thrive in that environment, while others prefer more structure. As for culture, it continues to take shape but has been and will always be centered around hard work, dedication to the solution we're providing, and excitement and excellence for the industry. Culture means many things to people, but we believe that an outstanding product in an arena open to change with passionate people sets the stage for fantastic teamwork. Regarding management, our preference is to help people be successful, not prescribe for them how to be successful. Again, some people thrive in this kind of environment, while others prefer more focused oversight. Although the latter is not our preferred approach, we will from time-to-time provide closer oversight to people needing the added support rather than see them fail. We pride ourselves on providing our employees with an environment that fosters creativity, hard work, and respect for one another. Our employees enjoy a neat, clean and stylish new office in downtown Boston where people can safely and respectfully contribute their thoughts and ideas for advancing our business. Silos and fiefdoms are not welcome and are actively broken down. Finally, regarding your comment pertaining to our clients. We couldn’t disagree more. Our customers are our world and we treat them with the utmost respect, going above and beyond to provide support and ensure their success. We take our relationships with our customers very seriously. Their success is our success. And you don’t need to take our word for it. Our existing customers are our biggest advocates and, frankly, the reason for our exceptional growth. Pros

- coworkers are a nice people - they honor your flex time - good location

Cons

- low pay for non-management - management knows a lot about construction, not software, which is what they are building/selling - fear-based leadership leads to poor morale/culture and shortsighted strategy - micromanagement

We appreciate you taking the time to speak openly about your experience at Touchplan. Touchplan is competitive with other companies in the region with a generous offer of equity, paid time-off and flexible schedules. We’re sorry you felt otherwise and we do our best to make sure our employees feel valued and motivated by their compensation and the jobs they’re performing and otherwise have had great feedback. Our company isn’t ordinary, and it’s one of the things that we love most about it. The product we stand behind was crafted because we think differently. The team we employ is engaged and successful because they’re not the same as everyone else. And at times, we encounter learning experiences based off of doing things differently. Failure to us is staying the course and not trying new things. Having a team of professionals that understand and are passionate about that and the future of construction and the tech space is critical to our success. We have and will continue to employ people that know or are excited to learn about both spaces and are on-board with our mission to be different and change this space. We’re sorry to hear you feel our leadership team lacks what you were looking for. It is always welcomed by all employees to contribute to strategies and elements to make all goals and plans successfully. As an organization, we wouldn’t be able to navigate to get to where we are today without business savviness and expertise. The strategy is fairly simple and explained to everyone as early as the interview process and our vision is enthusiastically long-term while fielding short-term needs as well. In addition, while we encourage people to run with their ideas and knowledge they’ve acquired professionally, there are some cases where more meticulous management comes into play if we feel the individual is not up to excel alone. While this may not have been the right path for you, we ask that you don't disrupt other's journeys at Touchplan, whether they are existing or perhaps future employees. Again, we appreciate you taking the time to review Touchplan and wish you well. Please let us know if you’d like to continue this conversation offline.

Pros

Depends on the team, there are pockets of great, hardworking, collaborative people. There is an initiative to improve the culture across the organization.

Cons

Leadership cowers to the board. CEO of parent company recently took over, and the executive team has minimal insight into how to market a software company. Accountability is negligible, for work and for inappropriate behavior. There is a top-down management style that stifles any kind of productive or meaningful conversation. Management does not champion or support their employees for growth.
