Pros

None for the employees that I could discern

Cons

They buy out private optometry practices & payout the owners a hefty sum upfront. The employees get zilch. They discontinued the employees 401 K's & told them not to expect a raise. They soon start to apply heavy pressure to the employees to increase profits & from my personal experience they use bullying tactics. I went out on medical leave when my mental & physical health became affected. I eventually resigned knowing that I could not return to that environment and remain healthy. This is a private equity firm whose sole purpose is to squeeze out as much profit as possible before "flipping" the company regardless of the human cost.

Pros

Good Benefits (with some vision perks) Lots to Learn Meaningful Work Team Collaboration Many private practices and locations acquired by this company - my practice was more homey and family-like which was really nice! We were a professional team that worked closely and helped one another.

Cons

- Low base pay for skilled labor ($17/hr in Northern California - McDonald’s pays more)! - Total Vision as a company doesn’t understand the needs of the employees or the optometry offices they acquire, which leads to my last point. - OVERWORKED, UNDERPAID & RELATIVELY UNAPPRECIATED

Pros

Room for growth if you believed and bought into their vision for the company. They want sales people not opticians, so anyone can be a frame stylist.

Cons

Environment wasn’t as inclusive as they would want you to believe. I felt like you had to be a “yes” person if you wanted to get ahead. Recognition was based on favoritism not on actual work ethic. As a company they are still too disorganized and the constant changes affected the service you could provide your patients. Don’t expect to get a raise as they claim that they are not in a position to offer raises, 401k are also not offered. Overall I was very weary of them.

Thank you for your comments, and the opportunity to address your feedback. We are proud that one of our Total Vision values is Embracing Change To Exceed Our Patient’s Needs, and we acknowledge that this can be challenging in our rapidly changing optometry industry. We strive to implement processes that will improve our company, and we continue to look to our Team Member’s to give us their ideas on how to best implement changes. Our leaders and trainers regularly visit our practices and partner with our teams, continually striving to enhance the experience for our patients. Exit interviews are another source of valuable feedback, and we are committed to offering them to departing Team Members. As an indication of our dedication to listening, each exit interview is shared with our CEO and the operations leaders that can help address issues and make positive changes based on the feedback.
