      Good starter, don't stay here long

      Pros

      Competitive benefits, good pay, fair work-life balance

      Cons

      Very clique-y. Management has been fending off claims of sexual harrassment during the past year, but predominantly hires female employees and shows favoritism towards them. Privately held company that has been trending downwards in values and management since the founder died.

      Pros

      I worked for 3-4 years in Haldor Topsoe, India. Although co.'s outlook has significantly deteriorated under current management. It has some overall exceptional plus points: Generous leave policy, Excellent work life balance, International/ cross-cultural exposure and Travel opportunities, Good learning opportunities.....company is good for complacent people who are not aiming too high and wish to settle down somewhere!

      Cons

      Monotonous job....although u learn a lot as a beginner, there's lack of vertical growth due to almost flat hierarchy, Low-end salary compared to industry standard, Annual bonus not linked with employee's individual performance...it is linked to whole company's performance which means that even if u slog hard whole year, u may not get anything at year end due to bad management decisions. To top it all, HR division is really incompetent and unprofessional. You get misleading information suiting to their convenience. Policies are not transparent and they don't care about employee's grievance redressal

      Management not what it once was. Knowledge and Experience as good as they ever were

      Pros

      The employees and colleagues are exceptional in knowledge and experience. What is known is known well and very well understood down to the atomic level. Therefore, Haldor Topsoe products are top of the line and state of the art. It is a great company and environment in which to learn and gain experience.

      Cons

      But, it is not likely the right company if you're looking for significant advancement. Since the change-over of top management in 2013 following the passing of the company's founder, Haldor Topsoe, the management style has shifted from being employee-focused and products/service-driven to being money-focused and fear-driven. This is unfortunate because the new management style has taken the enjoyment and teamwork out of the job and replaced it with dredgery, micromanagement, and distrust.
