Good for young people but not a realistic long term option for most

Pros

Friendly colleagues. Management treat staff much more fairly than other places in fitness industry. No micro-managing. You are trusted to deliver on your role. Relaxed yet professional work environment. Great customers. Good support financially through covid. Going above and beyond.

Cons

Lack of benefits. Lack of flexibility. Pay has remained static for years. Very limited progression opportunities. Senior or management roles often associated with more hours and lower pay than those in positions being managed.

Pros

> free membership > The CEO Colin is a great guy.

Cons

< Say bye bye to your social life, as concierge you either start at 5am to open the club for 5:30am and finish your shift at 2pm or you do the late shift which is 1:30pm and close the club at 22:30pm > Long periods of standing (even when the club is not busy and nothing to do) > New management is useless. Members will complain about the same thing and nothing gets done so you get so much mental abuse from customers. > Complaints on top of complaints- make sure you have extra thick skin. > Mentally damages your health, maybe not in the beginning but as time goes on. > Promotions are only based on their favourites and sucking backside :) > The job is just not sustainable which is why they are always recruiting concierge people. > Management expect too much for their employees with no extra incentive. > The culture is extremely toxic - lots of people hate working at Third Space and it’s just negative energy. Everybody looks and is tired and just fed up. > It’s not luxury, it’s just looks pretty but the clubs are always and will stay overcrowded as they don’t cap memberships they just defer new members. All they care about is money honestly which is why I left I was no longer proud working for this company. > As concierge you are responsible for all departments around the club, it’s not worth the pay. > Staff don’t stay very long, super high turn over which is why you always see them hiring. Hours are 45hrs a week. > Extremely burnt out (especially if you work the 5am shifts) > If you challenge them they’ll find anyway to get you out :) > If you can get your foot in the door and just gain some experience it would be great as it’s done justice to my CV but run when you can :)

Thank you for your honest feedback and sharing your experience. We’re glad you valued the free membership and had a positive impression of our CEO, Colin. That means a lot. We also hear your concerns loud and clear. The issues you’ve raised are serious and not what we want anyone to experience at Third Space. While the nature of concierge work can be demanding, no one should feel unsupported, mentally drained, or undervalued. Promotions are based on merit, and we’re committed to running a fair, transparent and robust process every time. When there is a period of high turnover, this is investigated and steps are taken if there is something that need to be improved. Your feedback helps us do better. If you’re open to a follow-up conversation, we’d welcome the chance to learn more and continue improving. Please reach out to recruitment@thirdspace.london. Thank you again. We wish you all the best in your next chapter.

Pros

- you make great friends, everyone wants to help eachother out - great facilities - members are a amazing and have made outside friends with them

Cons

- management hide serious issues - HR arent a great help - I reported repeated sexual harassment by my manager to HR April 24 and provided supporting incidents. HR and my GM acknowledged the report but took no further action. I felt unsupported, uncomfortable and ultimately left the company because the behaviour continued.
