Tarleton offers amazing benefits including 50% off tuition for spouse & children

Cons

Sadly, the culture is poor. I love my job, but seems almost everyone is disgruntled and feel unappreciated, unseen and unheard when it comes to those at the top.

Pros

The faculty and staff of the Psychological Sciences Department are very friendly and helpful. The working environment is wonderful.

Cons

Despite having excess funding for the Psych Department, TSU will not approve using it to give their student workers a raise. Currently, student workers are only allowed to be paid $7.25/hr and must work no more than 20 - 25 hours per week, equating to roughly $6,000/yr on average. This salary prevents students from being able to live off campus, pay bills such as their phone or car, afford groceries, or medication and health care visits because medical insurance (including Medicaid) will not approve such a low income. (Info given in August of 2023)
