Wasn't What I Hoped It'd Be

Pros

- The Road Rally, annual company convention is a great place to meet good people and it's better than the regular pay you get. - There are vacation and sick hours, so you get the basic benefits of a full time job. - Occasionally the boss buys lunch, and once or twice a year, he will do an employee event. - You meet nice people working at TAXI who are at your level. The CEO, on his better days, is polite and can strike up a good conversation. Also the CEO's family is really nice.

Cons

- I was disappointed with the lack of opportunities for growth within the company. I never felt like I was given a chance to move forward as an employee. - Piggy-backing on that, I felt like every job I did there I was set up to fail, and if I didn't fail at the job, there was no benefit. I never was given praise for doing my job well, and because of that, never given any other tasks. - The view on you as an employee is limited to instances. If you screw up once out of a hundred times on something, it plagues your status in the company even if you do the job well ninety-nine other times. - There was WAY too much drama among senior management and certain employees. I felt like I was forced to take sides a lot and it wasn't fun for me. - The head of HR/CFO is a very cold person, at least she seems that way at work. She actually came forward and named herself in one of these posts. She can be polite and has OK moments, but really not once has she tried to be friendly to anyone except the CEO and CEO's family. She can be polite and seldom is she mean, but most of the time she's cold (except for your first 2 weeks of working there). - People who call the office (should you have to be the person who answers that call) can be some of the dumbest and most difficult people on the planet. On top of that, to new inquiries calling TAXI for the first time, part of answering phones is reading from a script. Kind of takes the humanity out of a phone call that TAXI callers claim is the best thing about calling TAXI. - Things are often exaggerated by senior management: how often you take breaks, how often you talk to people while on the clock, how often you do/don't answer phones, how much money you are costing the company, etc. It's not a healthy environment to work in when you feel as though you need to prove yourself every 2 seconds that you are doing your job well. - Piggy-backing on that, I felt like my job was always at risk of being lost at that company. I always felt like they wanted me to feel like I'd lose my job if I made a mistake. Now, hardly ever do people get fired at TAXI (Because the CEO doesn't want to pay unemployment), but the feeling seemed to always be in the air. - Piggy-backing on that, I feel like there is a reason that people won't come forward on these Glass Door posts. With this CEO, his employees, past and present, feel like he will do anything to keep his company name and reputation golden, like threaten to sue someone who leaves a bad review, or go to everyone he known in the music industry and smut that employees name. People who've worked for this man wouldn't put it past him to go that far as a scare/revenge tactic to keep his company name and reputation golden to the public. Even though there is no logic or possible proof that he'd be successful at suing someone for a bad review, he wants people to believe that he could do it. - Bottom line, there is a reason that employees come and go at this office very frequently.

Not A Positive Environment To Work In

Pros

If you pay attention, you learn a lot about what makes a good song and artist. There is potential for you to be inspired by an artist who is submitting music for critiques.

Cons

The company is not relevant to the music industry and has a horrible reputation with the entire industry. It's not a positive environment to work in.
